Celebrating Herb Caen on his 100th Birthday

April 3 would have been Herb Caen’s 100th birthday. Caen was the greatest newspaper columnist in San Francisco history.  By far. He died in 1997 after a remarkable career chronicling San Francisco and remains the unofficial historian of the city.
