Join us this week at the Cadillac Hotel on Friday, September 14th, where our pianists will be Larry-Bob Roberts and David Owen - two local politicos who are also talented musicians. Larry was an aide for Supervisor Matt Gonzalez, and now works at the Public Defender's Office. David worked for Supervisor Aaron Peskin, and now attends Hastings Law School.
Larry has long been fascinated with New Orleans piano music. He plays piano in the
Winsome Griffles, a local band that will release their debut album this fall. David eked his way through college playing the piano for anybody who would pay him, from rocking children's dance tunes to hip-hop keyboards. His most recent gig was in the Skinny Kitten Tea Cafe at Burning Man, though there were more dead cats in attendance than live humans.
The Cadillac Hotel is at 380 Eddy Street (@ Leavenworth), and the free concert starts at 12:00 Noon on Friday. Everyone is welcome to attend.
