Join us on Friday, November 16th at the Cadillac Hotel – where our featured pianist will be Marylou Benitez, who lives in San Francisco and works as a home health care worker. While our concert series has featured many skilled professionals who perform at paying venues, part of our project is to invite amateur – but talented – local pianists who are part of the community. Marylou has performed at gigs throughout town like O’Reilly’s Holy Grail on Polk Street and the International Café on Haight Street.

Originally from the Philippines, Marylou came to the United States in 1979 – and has been a secretary for the IRS, a telemarketer, done sales for Serramonte Ford, as well as piano and organ sales. But the piano has always been her joy in life – “I like to make love to the piano while I’m playing,” she said. Her repertoire includes classical and pop standards – from Chopin and Beethoven, to Frank Sinatra and Gloria Gaynor.

The Cadillac Hotel is located at 380 Eddy Street (@ Leavenworth.) Everyone is welcome to attend tomorrow’s performance at 3:00 p.m.
