As you all know, our
dear friend and tireless
community activist Hank Wilson passed away on Sunday, November 9. A memorial celebration will be held on
Saturday, December 6 at the Eureka Valley Recreation Center at 100 Collingwood St. (at 18th St.) in the Castro, San Francisco from 2:30 to 5:00 PM.
Hank's 35 years of activism and community service touched so many people and planted seeds that grew into many of the organizations that serve our community today. To honor his many contributions, we are planning a "Thanks to Hank" fair, inviting these organizations to share their gratitude to Hank as part of this celebration with a tangible display of the nature of Hank's contribution to their organization.
Those of you whose lives have been touched by Hank will also be encouraged to participate in the fair; by expressing your gratitude in writing, by recording your own "Thanks to Hank" message on video, or in any other imaginative way that moves you. There will be refreshments, live music, a slideshow, and a brief program, culminating in a parade out into the Castro! We sincerely hope you will participate in the "Thanks to Hank" memorial celebration, and as Hank would say, "Have Fun!"
