“Kinky Armory…”

Dear Editor:

Returning home in time to apply a fresh coat of egg to his face, Mayor Newsom took the next step his advisors and handlers advised him to, and it’s another doozie. Partnering with the Planning Commission to defuse another situation that is absolutely none of his or anyone else’s business, he wants to invite a community conversation on the use of private property recently acquired by a private citizen running a legitimate, tax paying business in San Francisco. Ever since Newsom appointed Tony Hall Czar of Treasure Island, which showed a terrible lapse of sound judgement, this City has experienced one political foot in the mouth after another with our erstwhile young ‘leading man’ with his penchant for very young, beautiful girls and mature vintages wines.

Reacting to one gaffe after another, Newsom forces us to witness the Executive branch of our city government sieze the crown of alleged incompetence from the board of supervisors who he refuses to meet with as we voters asked him to do in our most recent election. He audaciouly asks San Franciscans to believe that he doesn’t want to be part of the circus that a meeting with the board of supervisors would be, as he lamely responds to their bait and digs ever deeper into his diminishing political good willy.

To deflect his lack of achievement, we’re being asked to watch him create a ‘conversation’ about the property and first amendment rights of a taxpayer to buy commercial real estate and operate a tax paying business that will employ 100 people and enhance the neighborhood of which its a part. Let’s pray that same businessman doesn’t sue the city for trying to impede his right to use his property as it is presently zoned. Has the Mayor taken leave of his senses or did his handlers return to kindergarten?
