Subject: 3 Ways to Help SF Teachers

Parkmerced is starting construction this coming spring on hundreds of new units. During this time of such a drastic need for affordable housing they are attempting to pay in lieu fees for 2/3 rds of the current required units.  San Francisco does not need all this new Market rate housing that is being proposed. Working some of your suggestions for teacher housing into their scheme would make this whole development go down easier. It might also put Parkmerced more in the City radar. Parkmerced reminds me of the Sunset 25 or 30 years ago no one  seemed to know or care what was happening.

Between the time  the ground is broken and the first new tenants move in ( there is currently a high vacancy rate rate btw) perhaps some positive changes can be made at least in the realm of BMR housing.
