HOUSING AND TRANSPORTATION FOR THE PEOPLE.
I suggest it should be a requirement that all off-site inclusionary ‘affordable’ housing be completed before the speculators can start building their luxury condos. This should also include on-site housing like the deal that Lennar reneged on out at BVHP. Also an increase in the buy-out option, perhaps tied to a percentage of profits.
Another common sense solution to our public transportation problems would be to finally follow up on Sue Bierman’s proposal to establish a Downtown Transit Assessment District. Everyone should “pay their fair share”. But then I’ve lived here long enough to know that expecting our ‘civic leaders’ to exercise common sense in the public good is to much to expect.
