The struggle of racism in unions continues and I continue my support of unions. However, here are two examples of racism situations that need to be corrected. 1) In San Francisco teachers that work on poor, African American and Latino Schools continue to receive $10K less per year in salary . They are the least experienced w/ the least seniority. Other teachers have priority in job assignments and guess where they choose to go! This is a problem that needs to be addressed by paying teachers in less affluent schools more or adjusting the seniority assignments. 2) The police union continues to condone – in most instances- the racist behavior of cops.
